Four new homes in Chilcompton, which have been described as being for "discretionary downsizers", have been given planning permission.

A planning application for a new development of four single-storey dwellings with associated access and parking on land to the west of 30 Stockhill Road, Chilcompton, by Winsley White Building Contractors has been approved by Mendip District Council.

Domino's in Shepton Mallet is recruiting

The pizza chain Domino's is serving up 5,000 new jobs and more than 1,000 Kickstart placements in an employment drive across the country, including at its Shepton Mallet branch.

The 5,000 new roles include pizza chefs, customer service colleagues and delivery drivers. These positions are on top of the 6,000 jobs Domino's created since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic this year.
