Katie and Russ Gillard, along with six-year-old son Noah, have made their own charming Glasthomebury Festival, featuring homemade signs, wristbands, programmes, tents and, of course, music.

This weekend, in celebration of the Glastonbury Festival's 50th anniversary, with the help of emergency Arts Council and National Lottery Funding, national non-profit community enterprise STEAM Co will be igniting and inspiring creativity across Britain, live streaming a three-day festival, as if it was at Worthy Farm in Pilton.

Encouraging Brits, young and old, to showcase their art centre stage, the #YourGlasto weekend led by STEAM Co's Nick Corston and artist Mulumba Tshikuka will be a live streamed virtual extravaganza, featuring creative workshops, a beer tasting festival thanks to Co-Op Food, DJ sets from the likes of Danny Rampling and uplifting performances from local community heroes, alongside world famous acts around the UK.

The application for the building of a single-storey detached garage block incorporating six garages with additional six parking spaces and turning head on land at Thorner Way, Chilcompton, was submitted by Mr R Thorner.

LGBTQ+ flag at Mendip

Mendip District Council is once again flying a flag at its buildings in Shepton Mallet to mark Pride Week, and celebrate its LGBTQ+ communities.

The council is also switching its usual logo on its corporate Facebook and Twitter accounts for the colourful Pride version, and will be sharing stories and video content, and signposting to support organisations available locally until June 29.
