Work is now underway on the new home of the Mid-Somerset Show in Shepton Mallet.
The site, which is just up the road from the show's original home on Cannard's Grave Road, will feature a permanent office, meeting room and storage facilities.
The Mid-Somerset Agricultural Society, which organises the annual agricultural show, previously owned only 1.6 acres of the show site and borrowed the rest of the site each year.
The new building and site will give the show a permanent home, help ensure the show is run more efficiently, offer better access to vehicles and will secure its future for generations to come.
After cancelling the 2020 show due to Covid-19, organisers are remaining positive for this year's show on Sunday August 15 following the government's announcement earlier this week.
Show secretary, Christine Barham, said: "After the uncertainty of the last year it's wonderful to be hopeful for this year's show and we're very excited to welcome everyone back and to the new showground.
"We will, of course, be continuing to follow advice from the government on large gatherings but for now we are remaining positive."
