Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses, following a fail to stop crash near Shepton Mallet.

The incident happened on Monday (November 4) at about 1pm on Ham Lane, near to Croscombe.

A red Kia Ceed was driving along the road, towards the A371, when a turquoise/blue Renault Clio was in collision with it.

The Renault reversed away from the incident to the main road and drove off in the direction of Shepton Mallet. The driver made no attempt to check on the welfare of the driver of the Kia or leave details.

A police spokesman said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the image or captured the image on a dash cam or mobile phone.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who has seen a turquoise/blue Renault Clio with front-end damage driving around the Shepton Mallet – or any body repair shops that have been approached to carry out repairwork.

"If you are able to help, please contact us, quoting reference 5219255226."
