It's Thursday so it's time for a round-up of all the events occurring in your area over the weekend and into the coming week.

Read on for not to be missed outings this week - but remember: this is just a few of the events that have caught our attention - there's loads more going on out there in your community.

Volunteer open day - East Somerset Railway, Cranmore

The East Somerset Railway is hosting an open day in the hopes of finding new volunteers for the historic railway.

If you're looking for a new challenge and are interested in volunteering at a heritage steam railway, head along to the East Somerset Railway on Saturday 25th March to meet the volunteers and learn about volunteering opportunities, from being a guard, to Ticket Office and Shop duties or helping with line maintenance.

The day lasts from 10am to 2pm and will include site tours, a free train ride and departmental demonstrations.

Toy and Train Collectors Fair, Bath and West Showground, Sunday 26th March

Catering for all collectors, you can walk around in the aisles looking for those elusive models that you have always been looking for, the list is endless:

Dinky, Corgi, Comics, Minichamps, Hornby, Bassett Lowke, Meccano, Spot-On, Sci-Fi, Marklin, Matchbox, Scalextric, EFE, Lledo, Action man, Dolls, Teddies ..…. there are literally 1000's of models and so much more, all to be found in the Showering Pavilion and on the Balcony.

There is free parking for 3000 cars and the hall is only a short walk from the car park. You can also stop for refreshments in the newly refurbished Wessex Pavilion Restaurant serving breakfasts and lunches, tea and coffee.

Early Birds from 08.30 – £10.00 each.

Dogs are welcome at this event, but please ensure they are kept on a lead at all times.

VMCC Autojumble, Bath and West Showground, Saturday 25th March

The autojumble encompasses three large indoor halls and additional outdoor space, with approximately 500 stalls selling motorcycles, parts, spares, clothing, tools, and all manner of accessories both new and pre-loved!

The Symphonic Rock Orchestra (SRO) Live At The Club Shepton Mallet

The Symphonic Rock Orchestra (SRO) are performing at The Club Shepton Mallet on the Saturday the 25th of March. Doors open 7:00pm. With the addition of Lianne, the new leading female vocalist, the SRO journey continues with new material including original songs. 

Starts at 8:30PM

Mad March, Market Place, Shepton, March 26th

A fancy dress competition with an Alice in Wonderland theme, including prizes for the best outfit (Adults and Children under 12 years old)

Running between 10am and 3pm, you can also expect live music and an array of craft stalls, street food, gifts, clothes and more. Some of these will be returning stalls from our events last year as well as new ones, with shops and cafes open in town there's sure to be something for everyone
