This weekend, Shepton Mallet will be brimming with a variety of events that cater to all ages and tastes, ensuring that there's something for everyone.

As always, our heartfelt gratitude goes to our sponsors, the Bath and West Showground, for their continued support in promoting local happenings.

Kick-start your weekend on a high note with live music from TwoManTing at The Art Bank Cafe. The performance will set the stage for an electrifying weekend from 19:00 to 23:00 on Friday at 13 High Street.

As dawn breaks on Saturday, The Newt in Somerset invites you to a day-long Harvest Weekend event from 09:00 to 18:00. Located at A359 in Hadspen, Castle Cary, the venue promises to be a haven of local produce celebrating the bountiful harvest season.

For families touched by adoption, a dedicated social time has been set aside from 09:30 to 11:00 at Rock Farm on Windsor Hill Lane. The Good Life Social Groups provide a comfortable space for adoptive families to connect and share experiences.

Pop culture enthusiasts won't want to miss the Comic Con event scheduled for 10:00 to 16:30 on Saturday at The Bath & West Showground. Whether you're a die-hard Marvel fan or a Whovian, this is your chance to dive into a world of fantasy and fun.

Also on the Saturday menu is a cooking class focusing on farm-to-table meals. From 10:00 to 13:00 at Rock Farm on Windsor Hill Lane, learn how to whip up delectable dishes sourced directly from the market garden.

If skating is more your speed, head to the Skate Jam at West Shepton Skate Park. Whether you're a pro or a spectator, the event from 10:00 to 16:00 promises a lively atmosphere with plenty of skateboarding action.

Stoke St Michael Primary School is hosting an Apple Fair that's perfect for the whole family. Located at Moonshill Road, the event will run from 13:00 to 17:00 on Saturday, offering an array of apple-based treats and activities.

For the brave of heart, Shepton Mallet Prison opens its doors for a ghost hunt from Saturday evening into Sunday. Do you have the courage to explore one of Somerset's most haunted spots on Frithfield Lane?

As Sunday unfolds, the Shepton Experience in Market Place will host Happy Harvest from 10:00 to 15:00, celebrating the harvest season with local produce and a range of activities for all.

Last but not least, Rock Farm will hold another Good Life Social Group, this time focusing on the LGBTQ+ community. The event runs from 10:00 to 11:30 on Sunday at Windsor Hill Lane and promises a welcoming and inclusive environment.

With such a rich array of activities and events, Shepton Mallet is the place to be this weekend. Don't miss out on these unique opportunities to connect, celebrate, and enjoy the community.
