Easter behind bars
Shepton Mallet Prison invites all visitors for an extra special Easter Holiday, all in an EGGstraordinary way behind bars.
The thrill of Spring begins with immersive Easter activities which run from the 1st – 16th April.
Over two weeks, all children and adults alike can experience an endless fun-filled Easter to remember when participating in 'The Great EGGscape' at Shepton Mallet Prison.
Visitors can choose from two EGG'CELL'ent escape rooms, the perfect way to get together as a family and enjoy a day out with a difference.
From battling the locks and defying darkness to testing your wit with the state-of-the-art prison escape rooms. Get fully immersed, where you get to do the time without committing the crime. An unforgettable Easter experience for all the family within the walls of Shepton Mallet Prison.
The Great EGGscape is more than just an adrenaline-charged escape experience, all the escape rooms come with an unrivalled Self-Guided Tour of Shepton Mallet Prison included, and of course, Easter wouldn't be Easter without the mention of chocolate.
Once participants have escaped 'The Cell' or 'The Hole' escape rooms, every member of the party can take part in fun-filled activity booklets, solve clues to complete the task, win a little Easter surprise plus, you will get presented with an official, 'I Have Completed The Great EGGscape at Shepton Mallet Prison' certificate.

Shepton Mallet Friday Market
Dating back to 1318, Shepton Mallet's Friday market is as much a social occasion as it is a chance to purchase fresh food, local crafts and seasonal goods. See our Market Place come to life as a wide range of traders set up stall around the "Shambles".

Easter Eggstravaganza
Fun for children aged 0-7 (Y2) and their families at St Peter and St Paul Church to celebrate Easter. Includes: bouncy castle, soft-play, craft, cooking and the chance to hear the Easter story from the Bible. All followed by a party lunch!
Repair Cafe - The Art Bank, 13 High Street
Every second Saturday of the month there'll be a Repair Cafe at the Art Bank, so come and get items fixed for free! Volunteers can help you repair electrics, general goods, bags and other items that need sewing. No need to book- just turn up!
