Vocalist promises to wow at Shepton Mallet's Snowdrop Valentines Cream Tea this February

Next month's creative communities session run by Make the Sunshine is a Snowdrop themed Valentines Cream Tea at Paul Street Community Centre.

On the 17th February attendees are invited to enjoy a delicious homemade cream tea while being entertained by the incredible vocalist Teresa De Roberto.

Teresa is a classical crossover soprano with an incredible vocal range and big personality. She will share some classical jazz and classics from film and theatre. Teresa trained at Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts where she received Singer of the Year Award. She lives in Somerset and has toured the world performing to many well known celebrities.

Aimed at over 55s these sessions take place monthly and celebrate the seasons through a different range of arts. To date sessions have included Winter Storytelling, Indian dance and Contemporary dance theatre.

February's event is part of Shepton Mallet's famous Snowdrop Festival which takes over the entire town and celebrates the legacy of James Allen – the Snowdrop King. As well as a scrumptious cream tea, participants can also make a gorgeous illuminated snowdrop light to take home.

Run in partnership with Somerset Skills and Learning with support from Somerset Community Foundation these sessions are aimed at over 55s and provide a fun, welcoming and friendly environment for all! Sessions are free with £2 optional donation towards materials.

This session runs from 10:30 - 12:30pm with participants welcome to stay after for tea, coffee and chat. No experience is needed.
