Ten local causes benefit from Community Donations from Shepton Mallet Town Council

Ten Shepton Mallet organisations have been chosen to receive Community Donations from Shepton Mallet Town Council.

The town council has a budget of £10,000 this year for Community Donations to support local projects and organisations, and dishes out funding twice a year.

In this latest round of funding ten organisations were chosen to receive a cash boost.

1st Shepton Mallet Rainbow Girl Guides have been given £300 to help cover the rent for the meeting room at Shepton Mallet Leisure Centre and to cover the running costs of the meetings.

Five Trees Bowlish CiC has been given £540 for a project where participants can learn to build their own DIY compost bins from upcycled pallets.

Parent and Friends Association Shepton Mallet Infant School has been given £900 for two recycled picnic benches.

Shepton Mallet AFC will have £1,000 to replace furniture in the clubhouse.

The Shepton Mallet Lantern Festival has been awarded £650 to cover roads closures and signage for the event.

Shepton Walks have £740.05 for insurance, subscriptions, website and publicity.

Tadley Acres Community Association for Tadley Acres Residents have been given £500 towards designing and printing leaflets, a website and meeting costs.

The Good Life Projects CiC will have £879 for roll out grass mats to create sdafe paths for all abilities, and for railway sleepers for raised beds.

The Mid Somerset Agricultural Society has been given £1,000 towards running and organising the Mid Somerset Show.

Windsor Hill Wood has £605 to help fund a project to improve health and wellbeing through vegetable and fruit growing.
