Tech repairs now on offer at Shepton Mallet’s Repair Café

Shepton Mallet's Repair Café is expanding its toolkit, now offering repairs for tech items including computers, phones, and gaming consoles thanks to a new volunteer specialist.
The monthly event, held at the Art Bank on the second Saturday of each month, returns on Saturday 10th May from 11am to 1pm. Alongside the new tech repair service, the café continues to offer fixes for a wide range of items – from wooden and electrical goods to mechanical devices, clothing, bags, belts, and jewellery.
Organisers are encouraging residents to bring in their faulty devices and fraying belongings rather than sending them to landfill. "There's no standard charge, but voluntary donations to support running costs are always appreciated," they said.
The café also welcomes new volunteers. Anyone with a knack for fixing things—from sewing to soldering—is invited to join the friendly team by popping in on the day or emailing [email protected].
Upcoming Repair Café dates include 14th June and 11th July, with each session offering practical solutions, community spirit, and a more sustainable approach to everyday problems.
