Clients of a local care provider were treated to an afternoon of tea, cakes and music at King's Bruton last week.

The 30 local residents attended the event as guests of Candlelight Care, who arranged the outing as part of their 'Candlelight Community' initiative. 'Candlelight Community' arranges events and activities for isolated clients, enabling them to interact with local groups and reduce loneliness. Musical afternoons such as the one at King's Bruton were held on several occasions prior to the pandemic, and have always proved a popular and enjoyable afternoon.

James Catley-Day, Managing Director of Candlelight Care, said, "Just briefly I would like to say how important today is for us. At Candlelight, we have been on the front line of the pandemic for the past two years. My colleagues and those in the Care Sector, whether on the front line or in the offices have worked tirelessly and selflessly, often to the detriment to their own health and wellbeing, to ensure that we can be here to experience such beautiful occasions again. By being here, together today, we embody their achievements. I know that our clients really enjoy these occasions, and it is marvellous to hear the talented musicians. We would like to thank King's Bruton for their hospitality, and especially the pupils for entertaining us so well. "

Candlelight Care is a family-run company offering homecare and live-in care services in Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire and East Sussex. With a Head Office in Glastonbury, Somerset, it has been caring for people of all ages in their own homes for over 30 years and its services are rated 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission.
