The monthly Shepton Mallet Sunday Market is back on the 21st July for a day of summer fun.

The market runs from 10am to 3pm in the Market Place, Shepton Mallet, and will feature a variety of market stalls and shops open and ready to greet you for a day of shopping and entertainment.

There will be a Punch and Judy show to entertain the kids and adults, live music and a beach-themed Hawaiian shirt competition.

It's Plastic Free July and many of the traders are plastic free businesses and sell ethical products.

The Naked Pantry who trade at the Shepton Mallet Sunday Markets specialise in organic dried foods, loose teas and coffee beans that are plastic free and offer more than 100 different products, allowing customers to reduce their use of plastic packaging.

They also offer a refill service where customers can bring their own bottles into the shop to refill with their products to further reduce plastic usage.

Zoe Rickwood from The Naked Pantry said: ''I started The Naked Pantry to make plastic free shopping more accessible in our local area.

"Since launching, my wonderful customers have prevented thousands of single use plastic packets from being dumped in landfill, or ending up in our beautiful oceans. I look forward to continuing this journey, and seeing the difference we can make."

Chateau Du Savon are another environmentally-friendly business who sell ethically sourced soap products based in Chewton Mendip.

Their mission is to source "naked" French soaps and solid shampoos, and refuse to sell products in plastic as well as deliver their products using only plastic free bio-degradable material.

Andrew Redstone of Chateau Du Savon said: ''We have started supporting the Shepton Mallet Market this year and always enjoy bringing our products to the market, which local customers have supported us with.''

Other businesses that will feature at July's market include City Garden Shop, Stone's Cider, Saints Preserves, B's Bees, Pacific Calm Gifts, HD Mini, Gorgeous Gifts Guru, Agatha & Reggie and more.

There is free parking all day in Great Ostry car park on Market Day.

Dates for future the Sunday Markets in 2019 are as follows:

Sunday 15th September

Sunday 20th October

Sunday 17th November

Sunday 15th December
