The Good Life Projects' Summer Spectacular at Rock Farm takes place this weekend.

As we embrace the summer, Shepton Mallet is blooming with vibrant events that promise an enjoyable start to the month.

At the heart of our thriving events scene is the Bath and West Showground, whose invaluable support allows us to bring you local, clickbait-free news and have very kindly sponsored this feature, as well as our What's On section. It's thanks to them that if you're hosting an event in Shepton Mallet, you can add it to our listings for free!

The Dobbies Garden Centre is organising a "Grow How" event on Saturday, 1st July at 10:30 am to kick off the month. If you're a budding gardener or simply curious about the green world, this free, in-store demonstration offers you the perfect opportunity to indulge in your hobby and learn some new skills.

The community is invited to the Good Life Projects' Summer Spectacular at Rock Farm, Windsor Hill Lane on the same day. Starting from 10:00 am till 3:00 pm, this event showcases local produce, food, and a host of activities for kids and farm tours. It's the ideal setting for an early summer's day of family fun.

Further underlining the community spirit of Shepton Mallet is the "Coffee Morning at Bruton Community Hall" on July 1st, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. This gathering isn't just about sharing a hot cuppa; it's also about supporting a worthy cause – Stour Valley Dog Rescue.

Music lovers are in for a treat on the evening of July 1st, with the Sunset Sounds presenting "The Fairy Queen" in the picturesque gardens of Wyke House in Bruton. It's a chance to enjoy opera in an intimate, relaxed setting surrounded by the beautiful Somerset countryside.

Our local LGBTQ+ community is warmly invited to the "Good Life Social Groups" event on July 2nd at Rock Farm. This social initiative aims to ease feelings of loneliness and isolation by providing a welcoming space to meet like-minded individuals. Attendees also get a special treat: a 15% discount on hot drinks!

The fun continues with the Henton Village Fete on July 1st, starting at 2:00 pm. From teenager activities, junior bake-offs, and dog shows to kings and queens' fancy dress competitions, it promises a day of laughter and cheer.

Finally, mark your calendars for the NASS Festival 2023 from 6th to 9th July at the Bath and West Showground. With a combination of world-class action sports and music performances, it guarantees an unforgettable weekend.

There's something for everyone in Shepton Mallet this weekend - enjoy the sunshine, make new friends, and take part in the best our community has to offer!
