This weekend, Shepton Mallet is packed with events catering to various interests, ensuring a lively and enjoyable experience for residents and visitors.

We're very grateful to the Bath and West Showground, who sponsor Nub News, allowing us to provide you with pop-up free, local news.

The excitement starts on Saturday, 27th April with the Somerset Sportive at The Showground. Cyclists of all abilities can enjoy a fun ride through some of the region's most beautiful landscapes, including the iconic Cheddar Gorge climb. It's a great opportunity for early-season cycling surrounded by stunning scenery. For more details on the sportive, you can visit the event page here.

Later that evening, step back in time with the "80's Meets 90's Disco" at The Club on High Street. Starting at 7 PM, the night will feature a live band and DJs playing the best hits from the '80s and '90s. It's a perfect night out for nostalgia lovers. Tickets are available online at Shoobs.

On Sunday, 28th April, the EuroVision Trail offers a unique adventure for the family, beginning at Holcombe Village Hall. Follow the trail, judge various Eurovision-themed stations, and finish at the 'After Show Party' for refreshments and a red carpet selfie. It's a fun and engaging way to spend your Sunday. Make sure to book your tickets in advance at Holcombe Hive.

Also on Sunday morning, young families can enjoy the Children's Music Workshop with Sing-a-ling at Create@#8. From 10:30 to 11:30 AM, this free workshop offers interactive music sessions for children under five. Details about the workshop can be found here.

Don't miss the Shepton Mallet Sunday Market at The Market Place, running from 10 AM to 3 PM. Explore a curated selection of local produce, crafts, and vintage items, accompanied by live music and kids' fun. For more information, contact [email protected].

Additionally, for those looking to unwind with some great tunes, DJ Matt Ettle will be spinning the best music of the 21st century at the Art Bank on Friday evening. Starting at 7 PM, this event promises an enjoyable night with a lively atmosphere.

And for a unique evening experience, don't forget the Diesel Burger Evening at East Somerset Railway on Friday, 26th April. Enjoy stunning views of the Mendip countryside from a heritage diesel unit while savouring a delicious burger and drink. More information and tickets are available here.

Whether you're looking to engage in physical activity, enjoy some live music, or just have fun with the family, Shepton Mallet's weekend lineup offers something for everyone.
