If you're looking for things to do this weekend in and around Wells, you're in luck. Whether you're into live music, comedy, or something a little more community-focused, there's plenty happening to keep you entertained.

On Friday evening, Wookey Hole Caves will be hosting the Comedy Cavern from 6pm to 8pm. It's set to be a night filled with laughs in this unique setting.

For something a bit different on Friday night, head to Glastonbury's Assembly Rooms for SEKTOR 7, a night of traditional goth, EBM, and synthwave music. Doors open at 8pm, and with tickets at just £5, you can enjoy a night of alternative beats from local and guest DJs. For more details, check out the event here.

In Wookey, the Wookey Duck Race will take place on Friday from 4pm to 7:30pm at St Matthew's Church. It's a light-hearted, family-friendly event that's sure to entertain all ages.

Saturday kicks off with the Somerset Underground 4 Book Launch at The Hunters Lodge Inn in Wells at 7:30pm, celebrating local underground culture. For those looking to indulge in fine dining, The Olive Tree Restaurant in Wells offers a French-inspired 6-course tasting menu from 7pm.

Dog lovers will be thrilled by the Pawsome Pooch Weekend at Clarks Village in Street. Running from 11am to 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday, the event offers free dog photo shoots, agility sessions, and even a competition to find Clarks Village's new "Canine Executive Officer." Music lovers can head to the Somerset Jazz Festival at Radford Mill Farm in Bath, running all weekend. With smooth jazz in a beautiful farm setting, it's a perfect way to spend a relaxed weekend.

Shepton Mallet will also host the South West Motorhome and Campervan Show at our sponsors, the Bath & West Showground throughout the weekend, showcasing motorhomes, campervans, and all things related to life on the road. Explore a range of new and used motorhomes and campervans, attend expert talks, and shop for camping gear. Enjoy four nights of camping with live entertainment, including a headline show from Andy Scott’s Sweet, plus activities like archery, axe throwing, and free motorhome manoeuvring courses.

Meanwhile, Shepton's Art Bank Cafe will be hosting BLAG on Tour: Take 5 on Saturday at 7pm, offering an eclectic mix of art and performance. Also in Shepton Mallet, the Live Music Event: Jumpin' Piano Interpretations will run from 6pm to 10pm, giving music fans a lively and soulful evening.

For a bit of community spirit, the Merriman Park Fun Day takes place in Street on Saturday from 1pm onwards. Featuring performances from Dragon Drummers Glastonbury, Cirque de Silk, and Tor Rugby Minis and Juniors, it promises entertainment for all ages. Local bands like Absolute Zero and Goodnight Lois will perform into the evening, with food stalls and community organisations adding to the fun atmosphere.

If you're looking for something more peaceful, the Croscombe to Dinder Walk offers a lovely chance to explore the local countryside on Saturday morning, starting at 10:30am. Alternatively, get creative with the Creative Life-Drawing Workshop at Wookey Farm from 10am to 4pm, where participants can enjoy life drawing in a beautiful outdoor setting.

For those in the mood for movement, Soil & Dance runs all weekend at Higher Farm in Shepton Mallet, celebrating community through dance. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, join Adventures in Dance at Green Heart Space in Evercreech at 9:45am on Saturday.

With so much going on in Glastonbury, Street, Wells, and Shepton Mallet, there's something for everyone this weekend – whether it's fun, food, music, or community spirit!

While you're in a partying mood, don't forget to clear your schedules for some fantastic events coming up at Studio24 in Wells at the end of this month, on Friday 27th September The Killers Kollective are set to bring the house down with their spot-on renditions of The Killers' greatest hits. From "Mr. Brightside" to "Somebody Told Me," these guys nail the sound and energy of Brandon Flowers and crew.
