Weavers Lodge welcomes its first residents at the end of September and launches a major recruitment drive to support its expanding residential service for adults with learning disabilities and behaviours that may challenge.

The newly opened specialist service, Weavers Lodge on Florida Street, is about to welcome its first residents following confirmation of its Care Quality Commission (CQC) registration. The service, which provides tailored support for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, is set against the serene backdrop of the Somerset countryside, just a short walk from the town's High Street.

The historic 18th-century property has been carefully restored to create a comfortable and safe environment for its residents. The service boasts eight spacious en suite bedrooms, two of which are self-contained studios. The autism-friendly design, with studios that include features such as a securable kitchenette and specialist furniture, helps transform this functional space into a warm, inviting home for its residents.

New residents are soon to be moving into Weavers Lodge, marking an exciting milestone for Autonomy Life. The carefully designed environment, alongside crucial multidisciplinary assessments, aims to help residents build the life skills they need to transition towards greater independence. The studios: Garden Studio and The South Room are key to supporting this development.

With the home now fully CQC-registered, Weavers Lodge is in the process of expanding its team and is actively recruiting staff to join its growing service.

The care provider is looking for compassionate and experienced individuals to support its mission of offering top-quality care in Somerset.
