Shepton Mallet's beloved outdoor swimming pool is back for summer 2025. The Shepton Mallet Lido, tucked away on Shaftgate Avenue, will reopen on Saturday 3rd May, offering everything from toddler-friendly paddling to starlit moonlight swims.

A family-friendly outdoor swimming gem

Set just off a quiet residential street, Shepton Mallet Outdoor Pool is the perfect spot for a refreshing dip on warm days. It features:

• A 25m x 12m heated main pool (depths from 0.9m to 2m)
• A 12m x 7m children's pool, shallow enough for toddlers
• A splash area with fountains and jets
• Grassy sunbathing zones, decking, and picnic benches
• A children's play area

This eco-conscious pool has been a local landmark since the 1950s. Refurbished in 2006, it's now heated using recycled warmth from the nearby Brothers Cider factory.

Season tickets are only available until 16th May, offering unlimited access throughout the season. Monthly memberships can be purchased at any time via direct debit.

Moonlight swims – dates and times

Back by popular demand, Moonlight Swims offer a tranquil, adults-only experience beneath the stars. The 2025 schedule includes:

• Monday, 12 May
• Monday, 9 June
• Monday, 14 July
• Monday, 11 August
• Monday, 8 September

Each night has three sessions:

• 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM
• 9:00 PM – 10:00 PM
• 10:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Warm drinks and snacks will be available after your swim by the poolside fire pit.

Early season opening hours (3–23 May)

• Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• Tuesday, Thursday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Sunday: Closed

Book your session via the Fusion Lifestyle app or website. Lido swims can be reserved 21 days in advance, with lane swims bookable 7 days ahead. Walk-ins are accepted based on availability.
