Snowdrop songwriting competition being held in Shepton Mallet

A songwriting competition is being held in conjunction with the Shepton Mallet Snowdrop Festival.

This competition is to celebrate the life and work of the Snowdrop King James Allen, who is buried at St Peter's and St Paul's Church in Shepton Mallet.

For the competition you can send in your lyrics, manuscript or recorded version of a song about snow drops. The song should be no more than four minutes long.

Send your songs to [email protected]. Only entries which have "Snowdrop Festival Songwriting Competition Entry" in the title will be included in the judging.

The winning song will be featured on Radio Shepton's playlist. The closing date is midnight on the January 31 2020.

Only one entry per person, and please state your age on the entry email. Categories are for under 18 and over 18.

The winner will have their song recorded at Pocket Money Studio in Shepton Mallet. The competition is free to enter and is open to all novices, professional musicians and bands.
