On Sunday, Shepton Mallet saw an impressive community effort as Shepton Walks organised a unique litter-picking walk.

The event, part of a series of outdoor walks aimed at bringing the community together, had a special twist this time: participants were encouraged to don their best woolly hats while cleaning up the town.

The initiative was a resounding success, with 27 volunteers stepping up to the challenge. Together, they collected 30 bags of rubbish, as well as various other discarded items, significantly improving the appearance of Shepton's streets and some overgrown areas

The organisers of Shepton Walks expressed heartfelt gratitude to all those who participated, highlighting the visible difference their efforts made in enhancing the town's beauty.

Looking ahead, the next series of walks by Shepton Walks are scheduled during the Shepton Snowdrop Festival, which runs from 12th to 18th February.
