With summer drawing to a close, Shepton Mallet is offering a packed weekend to bid adieu to the season.

Shepton has something for everyone, whether it's the rumble of engines at the Truckfest South West or the serene settings of a Sunday morning worship.

Starting on Saturday, 2 September, gearheads will be thrilled with 2023 Truckfest South West, running through Sunday, 3 September at the sponsors of this newsletter, The Bath & West Showground. The day is not just for those in love with lorries; the event promises family-friendly fun.

Also on Saturday, families who have adopted can join the Good Life Social Groups - Adoptive Families meeting from 09:30 to 11:00 at Rock Farm. A little later in the day, enjoy a Summer BBQ at TIIGO at Montigo Resorts Somerset at Charlton House on Charlton Rd from 12:00 to 18:00.

If you're intrigued by the paranormal, Saturday offers a unique opportunity. Explore the eerie surroundings of Shepton Mallet Prison on a ghost hunt beginning at 21:00.

On Sunday, 3 September, the day starts bright and early with Parish Communion at St Peter's Church in Evercreech from 09:30 to 10:30. Following this, the St Peter & St Paul's Church hosts morning worship from 10:30 to 11:45.

Families can then head to Collett Park for Roots and Wings - Circus in the Park. The event starts at midnight and runs until noon, offering an enchanting blend of performances that promise to captivate both young and old.

Craft enthusiasts shouldn't miss the Craft Fayre at the 1st Shepton Mallet Scout Group. Located at The Scout Hall West Shepton Playing Fields on Old Wells Rd, the fayre runs from 10:00 to 15:00.

If you're interested in some laid-back Sunday vibes, TIIGO again offers its Summer BBQ from 12:00 to 18:00. For something a bit different, check out Messy Church at St Aldhelm's Church on Church Lane in Doulting from 16:00 to 17:00.

So whether you're an adrenaline junkie, a spiritual seeker, or someone just looking to enjoy the waning days of summer, Shepton Mallet has got your weekend covered. Don't miss out on any of these fantastic events.
