Shepton Mallet West Ward vote set for 7 May

Voters in Shepton Mallet West Ward will be asked to choose a new town councillor next month after an election was confirmed for Thursday, 7 May 2026.
One seat is being contested on Shepton Mallet Town Council, with polling due to take place between 7 am and 10 pm.
The statement of persons nominated shows three candidates are standing for the vacant seat. They are Simon Christopher Edwards, standing for Future Shepton - Working Together for Shepton, Caroline Ann Hobbs for the Liberal Democrats, and Natalie Reidy for Reform UK.
Only voters in West Ward will be eligible to take part in the poll.
Residents are being encouraged to look out for information from the candidates over the coming weeks before deciding who they want to represent them on the town council.
The election will decide who fills the single available place on Shepton Mallet Town Council.
