Shepton Mallet will be buzzing with a variety of exciting events this coming weekend.

From thrilling motorcycle stunts to calming horticultural tips, there's something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

It's a big week for our What's On sponsor, the Bath and West Showground as the Royal Bath and West Show gets underway this half-term. Running between 1–3 June 2023, visitors of all ages can look forward to some exciting new attractions alongside old favourites. This year, the Imps Motorcycle Display Team will be the main attraction, showcasing heart-stopping motorcycle stunts twice daily. Animal lovers can watch daily displays from Pawsability Dog Agility, the Pony Club Games finals, and a grand parade of vintage vehicles.

Ticket prices have been frozen for the third Show in a row, with Advance Saver Tickets starting from £22 per adult. Each Advance Saver ticket also allows FREE admission for two children, making theRoyal Bath & West Show a great value day out for all the family. Elsewhere, on Sunday, 4th June, St Aldhelm's Church will be hosting a family time event featuring tea, crafts, bible teaching, and songs from 16:00 to 17:00.

Music aficionados can enjoy the sounds of the Dart Valley Stompers, a five-piece band known for their energetic renditions of New Orleans and traditional jazz. They'll be playing at the Caryford Community Hall on Sunday, 4th June, starting at 2:00pm. Tickets are still available at £11.00 including the booking fee.

For poetry and music lovers, make sure to catch Live: Samantics at The Art Bank Cafe on Friday, 2nd June, from 19:00 to 23:00. This next-generation one-man band uses a loop station and sampler to create a melange of noisy poetry.

Meanwhile, Dobbies Garden World in Shepton is hosting their free in-store Grow How demonstrations on Saturday at 10.30am. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a novice, this interactive opportunity to learn from horticultural experts should not be missed.

Finally, why not visit Rock Farm on Windsor Hill Lane for a lovely day out? Book your tickets to visit the farm on 3rd June from 10:00 to 15:00 and make friends with the farm's resident donkeys, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, and turkeys.
