Shepton Mallet volunteer stall comes to market

Shepton Mallet residents are being invited to find out more about volunteering at a special Friday Market stall this week.
Shepton Mallet Town Council will host the Volunteering Week 2026 event at Market Cross on Friday, 5 June, from 8.30am to 1pm.
The stall will feature local organisations looking for volunteers.
The council said it will be a chance for people to discover different roles, meet local groups and learn more about how they can get involved in the community.
Groups due to be featured include Windsor Hill Refuge, Shepton Mallet Bowls Club, AFC Shepton Mallet, Shepton Mallet Lantern Festival, Flock Arts Group, Shepton Snowdrops, Mendip Credit Union and Shepton Men's Shed.
The event is aimed at anyone who has thought about volunteering but is unsure where to start.
It will also give local organisations a chance to speak directly to people who may be able to offer time, skills or support.
The stall will be part of Friday Market at Market Cross in the town centre.
Residents can drop in between 8.30am and 1pm.
