Public budget workshops and drop-in sessions, originally scheduled for 17th and 18th October, have been postponed by Shepton Mallet Town Council.

The decision comes as the council believes these sessions will be more beneficial to the community once they have finalised the projects and expectations for the year ahead.

The rescheduled Budget Workshop is now slated to take place at the Library on 5th December 2023 from 19:00 to 21:00. A drop-in session will follow on 6th December, running from 9:00 to 16:00.

These workshops and sessions form part of the council's annual sequence of autumn meetings aimed at preparing the budget for the coming year.

The public budget workshop offers a valuable opportunity for residents to gain a deeper understanding of the council's financial plans and allows them to contribute their thoughts and concerns before the final budget is agreed upon.

The features and benefits of participating in these public budget workshops include a greater understanding of how the budget correlates with Council Tax and a chance to influence the Council's financial planning for the year ahead.
