Are you part of a local organisation in Shepton Mallet looking for funding for a community project? Good news: Shepton Mallet Town Council is currently inviting applications for its community grants scheme.

The scheme is designed to assist local community groups and organisations to achieve their goals, whether that involves launching new projects or sustaining ongoing services.

The council offers three types of grants:

  • One-off small grants: These are for revenue only and range from £1 to £500. These are intended for specific projects and are not annual allocations.
  • One-off large grants: These can be for either revenue or capital expenses and range from £501 to £2,000.
  • Strategic grants: These are special grants that the council may award under exceptional circumstances. These are for services or organisations that the council believes are crucial to the wellbeing of Shepton Mallet. A Service Level Agreement (SLA) will support these grants, and they may span more than one financial year.

The council has set a policy that all grant applicants must be part of a formally organised group, club, committee, or charity. The organisation should aim to benefit the community and residents of Shepton Mallet in some way.

Important dates

The deadline for grant applications is coming up fast, with a cut-off date set for 20th October 2023. Applicants are advised to ensure they include all necessary documentation at the time of application.
