Shepton Mallet town centre has been infused with spring cheer thanks to the efforts of local volunteers.

18 members from the Shepton Horticultural Society and Friends of Windsor Hill Tunnels joined forces to refresh the town's planters, embracing sustainability and community collaboration.

The volunteers replaced the annual bedding plants in the town's planters with perennial plants that will flourish throughout the summer.

They also relocated two plastic troughs from outside the library to a new spot next to Morrisons, introducing a vibrant display of six barrels in their place.

The winter bedding plants that were removed have not gone to waste; they are now brightening up the Charlton Road telephone box in a temporary display.
