Wessex Water will be cleaning foul sewers on two major roads in Shepton Mallet at the start of November.

Between Sunday November 3 and November 6, the company will be using stop/go boards for traffic control at the junction of the A361 Charlton Road and Frog Lane to enable the work to take place.

At some point between Sunday and November 5, similar work will be done on the A37 Kilver Street, again with stop/go traffic control, but this work should only take two hours.

Other roadworks in Shepton this week include:

From Monday October 28, two months of work by Wales and West Utilities to replace a metal gas main with a plastic one will take place in Whitstone Rise.

From Wednesday October 30 to Friday November 1, BT will be replacing a jointbox frame in Hyatt Place.

On the same days, BT will also be replacing a jointbox cover in the pavement along the A361 Fosse Lane.

Meanwhile, the temporary traffic lights are due to remain in place until November 22 at the Commercial Road roundabout for roadmarkings, drainage and lighting works.
