Shepton Mallet projects honoured at Somerset Business Awards 2025

Two Shepton Mallet-based organisations were recognised at the Somerset Business Awards 2025, celebrating their contribution to local enterprise and regeneration.
Interim Spaces, a small charity working to revive Shepton's high street through creative reuse of empty spaces, won the Investing in Somerset Award, sponsored by Hinkley Point C. Judges praised the organisation for its commitment to the local economy and community-led regeneration.
In a statement, the team said: "We're a very small charity, so it means a huge amount to be recognised for the work we've been doing in Shepton Mallet.
A massive thank you to our brilliant and supportive community, Shepton Mallet Town Council, Somerset Council, and all those who've helped shape our projects. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners."
The Little Farm Shed, one of the first businesses supported through Interim Spaces' retail incubator, was named runner-up in the Start-up of the Year category—a notable achievement for a growing local business already making its mark on the town.
The awards ceremony, held at the Winter Gardens Pavilion in Weston-super-Mare on Friday 28 March, marked the 20th year of the Somerset Business Awards. Nearly 400 businesspeople from across the county attended the event, which was organised by Somerset Chamber of Commerce and hosted by Global and Heart FM journalist Cormac MacMahon.
David Crew, Managing Director of Somerset Chamber of Commerce, said: "Every year the awards recognise and honour the achievements of our vibrant business community. The economic situation may be challenging, but Somerset's business community has again shown resilience and excellence across all sectors."
