The town gears up for the new king's coronation with a party in a field and a picnic in the park coronation concert, bringing together the community for a day of festivities.

As the nation gears up to celebrate the coronation of the new king, Shepton Mallet is planning its own festivities to mark the occasion.

On Saturday, 6th May, a party in a field will take place from 7pm until 10pm at the Midsomer Showground on Cannards Grave Road. The event promises live music, a hog roast, and a bar, with attendees encouraged to bring their own picnic. The evening will culminate with a spectacular fireworks display.

The following day, Sunday 7th May, Shepton Mallet will host a picnic in the park coronation concert on a large screen. The event will take place in Collett Park and attendees are again encouraged to bring their own picnic. An ice cream van and a bar will also be available.

The coronation concert will be shown on a large screen, offering the perfect opportunity to celebrate the new king's ascension with fellow residents.

The coronation celebrations in Shepton Mallet will be a chance to come together as a community and enjoy the festivities in the company of friends and neighbours. The town is proud to be part of this momentous occasion and is looking forward to the days ahead.

As always, safety remains a top priority for the town, and attendees are reminded to follow all guidelines and safety measures in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for all.
