A major housing development could be built near Shepton Mallet, if plans are given the go-ahead.

Housebuilder Persimmon Homes has submitted an outline application for 190 houses on land south of Fossefield Road, Fosse Way, Stratton-on-the-Fosse.

The proposed development on land to the east of the A367 comprises 133 market homes and 57 affordable homes as well as a children's play area.

Approval of details reserved on condition 6 - (Surface Water Drainage System) on planning consent 2021/2920/FUL (Change of use from agricultural to equestrian, the erection of a manege and replacement stables).

Non-material Amendment to permission 2020/2177/FUL (Demolition of existing care home and erection of a care home (C2) with associated external amenity space, access, car parking, landscaping and other associated works) to change the natural stone on west elevation to render and reduction in numbers and re-positioning of roof lights.
