Shepton Mallet Lido will remain closed for the rest of the year due to the coronavirus restrictions.

Fusion Lifestyle, who run the swimming pool, announced today (August 20) that they were going to keep it shut for the rest of 2020 despite re-opening pools elsewhere.

Having reviewed the possible programme within the government restrictions and Swim England's safety guidelines, Fusion said they felt a programme of pre-bookable one-hour lane swimming was not going to meet customer's expectations.

However, Fusion have said that Strode Swimming Pool in Street will re-open on September 1 and the pool at Wells leisure centre will be operating again from September 14.
