The Bath and West Showground is set to host the eagerly anticipated Alternative Convention 2024, kicking off on Sunday, 4th February.

Music enthusiasts can look forward to continuous live performances on the main stage, interspersed with pop-up stages and buskers, offering a variety of musical experiences throughout the day. Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, stilt walkers and characters, including Orcs, will roam the venue, providing fantastic photo opportunities against fantasy backdrops.

For those seeking a dash of adventure, axe throwing and a range of activities from role-playing games (RPGs) to live-action role-playing (LARPs) will be available for participation. Additionally, a professional photo studio will be set up for attendees wanting to capture their unique styles.

Tattoo enthusiasts are in for a treat with several tattoo artists on site, offering walk-up appointments and a chance to explore an array of inspiring designs.

Barbers will also be present, providing grooming services and showcasing their skills.

The convention will feature a diverse mix of styles and themes, including steampunk, punk, medieval, fairies, burlesque, retro, Viking, larps, vintage, taxidermy, gothic, fantasy, horror, manga, wicca, pagan, rockabilly, and more, ensuring an eclectic and inclusive experience for all attendees.

Given the variety of costumes and vendors, some of which may include horror themes and adult-oriented items, the event advises that it is primarily suited for adults. However, under 18s are welcome when accompanied by an adult or under parental guidance.
