A Shepton Mallet café has been awarded one of just 92 Platinum Jubilee grants from the National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF).

The Art Bank Café on Shepton High Street will be using the money to fund its new project "Community Spirit" which will be launched at a special event on Jubilee weekend and will run for a year.

They are yet to disclose full details of the project, but say "There'll be lots of ways you can get involved!"

The NLCF has a pot of £4.5m for the successful projects, which will each receive between £30,000 and £50,000.

The NLCF said it wanted to fund schemes that would "create a greater legacy for our places and spaces, and that support new opportunities, activities and build better relationships with one another, across generations and with the natural world".
