Shepton Mallet area planning applications October 9 to October 15 2019

J H Haskins and Sons have applied for planning permission for external alterations to the shop front and internal alterations to provide separate access to the first floor, at their store in Shepton Mallet High Street.

Other planning applications submitted this week include:

Proposed alterations and change of use to annexe and outbuildings to create three holiday lets at Manor Farm, Farm Lane, East Compton, have been applied for by Mr William Allard.

Proposed works to tree/s in a conservation Area: T2 (Lawson Cypress) and T4 (Western Red Ceder) - Reduce crown height by up to 3m on land at Meadow Rise, Shepton Mallet, have been appiled for by Jon Goodfellow.

An application for a non-material amendment to permission 2019/0879/FUL for an air handling unit, rear staircase, vent holes in rear wall, replacement windows, external lighting and an external fence at Shepton Mallet Motors, Townsend, Shepton Mallet, has been made by Avon and Somerset Constabulary.

Proposed works to tree/s in a Conservation Area: T1 (Eucalyptus) - Fell; tree is unsustainable for size of garden and casts shade all year round; evidence of extensive fire damage; the tree will be replaced with a more suitable species at Gulleys, Rock Street, Croscombe, have been applied for by Mr Michael Garner.

Willow tree repollarding to approximately 5m; covered by TPO M1131 at Alma Cottage, Long Street, Croscombe, has been applied for by Mrs Veronika Borzymowski.

Planning applications decided this week include:

An application for approval of details reserved by conditions 4 (external facing materials), on planning consent 2017/0653/HSE at Zion Cottage, Zion Hill, Oakhill, by Paul De Bank has been approved.

Conversion of barn to a dwellinghouse, including rebuilding of wing at Meadow Farm, Fosse Road, Oakhill, by Mr Andrew Mortimore has been approved.

Proposed Erection of a Replacement Dwellinghouse at Southview Farm, Bath Road, Downside, Shepton Mallet, by Lee and Julie Brooks has been approved.

Proposed dropped kerb and creation of a car parking space/driveway at 38 Charlton Road, Shepton Mallet, by Mr Sam Watkins has been refused.

Conversion of a garage to a single storey dwelling house on land adjacent to Kennel Cottage, Mead Lane, Wanstrow, by Mr Mark Crabbe has been withdrawn.

Prior Approval for a Proposed Change of use of Agricultural Building to a Dwellinghouse (Class C3) and for associated operational development at Hooting Ash Farm, Lambert's Hill, Shepton Mallet, by Mr and Mrs Morriss has been refused.

Proposed single storey rear extension and internal alterations at 17 Chapelfield, Oakhill, by Mr and Mrs T Bridges has been approved.

An application for approval of details reserved by condition 5 (joinery details) on listed building consent 2018/3070/LBC; refurbishment and extension of existing dwelling. Including new vehicle access at Riverdale, East Town Lane, Pilton, by Mr and Mrs Humphrey has been withdrawn.
