A number of changes to an Oakhill property have been approved by Mendip planners.

At Little Oakhill, in Brewery Lane, alterations to the existing house, the use of the historic dairy as a holiday let, and the change of use of the sheep barn from agricultural use to allow holiday let use by Mr Neal Hendey have been approved.

Planning applications in the Shepton Mallet area that have been submitted this week include:

Demolition of existing conservatory extension and construction of new extension at 44 Compton Road, Shepton Mallet, has been applied for by Mrs Garland.

Erection of a single storey rear extension at 34 Kingfisher Road, Evercreech, is wanted by Mr and Mrs Jones.

Erection of garage and storage shed at Lower Downside Farm, Windsor Hill Lane, Downside, Shepton Mallet, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs C Watson.

Installation of a shared sewage treatment plant and drainage field at Downhead Cottage, Pound Lane, Downhead, is wanted by Ms Janet Woodward.

Applications in the Shepton Mallet area that have been decided this week include:

Discharge of condition 3 (materials) and condition 7 (access road) on planning permission 2018/2744/REM on land at Crossways Lane, North Wootton has been approved.

Mendip District Council land to the rear of 24 Old Wells Road - T1 and T2 - Lime - selectively lift crown by up to 3-4m (where suitable pruning points occur) and prune away from property (tip prune to remove end weight from selected laterals to provide approx 1 - 1.5 m clearance from the roof (where suitable pruning points allow) at Runaway Hill Recreation Area, Barrington Place, Shepton Mallet, by Mrs S Church has been approved.

Proposed conversion of garage to workshop/studio and barn to be repointed internally at Manor House, Lower Street, Upton Noble, by Mr John Deverell has been approved.

New shopfront glazing to forecourt sales building and new 2m high timber bin store to rear of forecourt sales building (amended drawings) at Lydford Filling Station, Fosse Way, Lydford-on-Fosse, by Motor Fuel Ltd has been approved.

Replacement of 7ft hedgerow on two sides of property with a block and rendered wall (retrospective) at 11 Park Hayes, Leigh-on-Mendip, by Paul Lewis has been withdrawn.

Replace existing windows with double-glazed timber casement windows at 12 Longbridge, Shepton Mallet, by Mr Robert Govier has been approved.

Change of use of agricultural land to B8 storage land and the erection of a steel framed apex building for B8 storage use (housing of new agricultural machinery) at Read Agri Services, Station Road, Wanstrow, by Mr Richard Read has been approved.

Proposed rear single storey and dormer extension, internal alterations and erection of garages and store/workshop to land at rear at Karim, Station Road, Wanstrow, by Mrs Catherine Kelly has been approved.

Erection of 2.4m boundary fencing, installation of replacement 1.8m entrance gates and re-surfacing the existing access driveway at Winding Lake Farm, Pylle Road, Pilton, by Mr and Mrs Edgley has been approved.

Change of use from B1 commercial unit to a D2 use (assembly and leisure) as a personal training studio at Wayside Farm, Unit 1 Redlands Farm Lane to Prestleigh Road, Evercreech, by Mr Kieran Tomes has been withdrawn.

An application for approval of details reserved by conditions 5 (tree protection plan), 8 (Natural England licence), and 9 (construction environmental management plan) on planning consent 2019/1026/FUL on land at Paradise Lane, Croscombe, by Mr Sell has been approved.
