By Laura Linham 14th Oct 2026
Shepton Mallet's Remembrance Sunday arrangements have been announced, with residents invited to gather at the Cenotaph on Sunday, 8 November.
The town council and Shepton Mallet Royal British Legion are organising the service.
Those attending are asked to assemble at 10.35am at the Cenotaph in the High Street, with the parade falling in at 10.45am.
The service will begin at 10.47am, ahead of the two-minute silence at 11am.
Honorary branch chaplain Jonathan Hunter-Dunn will lead the multi-faith service, with Andy Neal acting as parade marshal. Local organisations will lay wreaths, and the parade will then march to St Peter and St Paul's Church.
Everyone is welcome to attend, whether or not they have served in the armed forces or belong to the Legion. Serving personnel are encouraged to wear their uniforms, while veterans can wear military headwear and medals.
A gathering for Legion members, veterans and townspeople will also take place at The Club in the High Street.
The Club will open at 10am for food donations to be dropped off, and the order of service will be available on the day.
