2 fire appliances from Shepton Mallet and Wells attended a 2 vehicle RTC, which resulted in one person being trapped in one of the vehicles.

Fire crews worked alongside Ambulance paramedics to stabilise the vehicles, and then the casualty inside, before performing a roof removal, using hydraulic cutting equipment, in order to extricate them. Crews made good and steady progress confirming at 16:38 that the casualty had been released and left in the hands of paramedics. We then made the vehicles and scene safe, before leaving duty of care for the incident in the hands of the Police. The incident is now complete and brought under control at 17:12hrs. These are the full and final details.
