Road Traffic Collision - Persons Trapped at Old Frome Road, Wells

Date: 22.01.2019Time: 08:15Location: Old Frome Road, WellsDevon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received reports from our colleagues at Avon & Somerset Police of a two vehicle Road Traffic Collision where one person was believed to still be trapped.

Fire control mobilised one fire appliance from Wells, one from Shepton Mallet, the Rescue Tender from Glastonbury and an Operational Assurance Officer.

On arrival, the Incident Commander confirmed a Road Traffic Collision involving two vehicles where there was one person trapped within the vehicle.

Crews got to work extricating the casualty with hydraulic rescue equipment and once extricated the casualty was handed over to the paramedics on scene.

The vehicles were made safe before all crews returned to their home stations.
