Devon and Somereset Fire and Rescue Service receieved a call from ambulance reporting a road traffic collision at the above location.

Fire control immediately mobilised one fire appliance from Shepton Mallet, One fire appliance from Radstock, one fire appliance from Paulton and two duty officers to attend this incident.

On arrival the incident commander confirmed one VW transporter and a tipper lorry had been involved in a road traffic collision resulting in one male and one female physically trapped within the VW transporter.

The incident commander instructed crews to get to work with hydraulic cutting equipment to release the casualties.

Both casualties were conveyed to hospital via land ambulance.
