Queer Steampunk Ball to back Pride causes
By Laura Linham 9th Apr 2026
Wells is gearing up for a bold night of music, drag and cabaret as the Queer Steampunk Ball arrives at the White Hart on Friday, 17 April. Doors open at 7 pm, with all profits going to Wells Pride and Somerset 2BU.
Top of the bill is Professor Elemental, with organisers promising his trademark mix of chaphop and upbeat energy. He will be joined by the Bonaroo Cabaret, with dance, singing and burlesque also on the bill, alongside drag queens, drag kings and the Dr Love Kozmik Light Show.
The event is being pitched as a playful reimagining of the 19th Century, asking what Victorian life might have looked like if people had been out and proud. It is a deliberately flamboyant theme, but the purpose behind it is clear — raising money for two local causes.
Tickets are £20 plus fees on Eventbrite, while organisers say admission will be £20 on the door. A promotional code, Whim5y, is also available for the first 50 tickets only.
The fundraiser takes place at the White Hart in Wells on Friday, 17 April, with doors opening at 7 pm. Organisers say anybody able to pay more is encouraged to do so, with all profits going to Wells Pride and Somerset 2BU.
