The Prestleigh Inn will go up for auction next month with a guide price of between £225,000 and £250,000.

The pub in Prestleigh is being marketed by Charles Darrow Commercial Property Consultants, and will be auctioned in London on October 10 by Network Auctions, though pre-auction bids will be considered.

It is still fully trading and the owners will continue to keep it running until completion, so that it can be taken over as a pub, or alternatively will cease trading if vacant possession is required.

Measuring 4,230 sq ft in size, the freehold pub adjacent to the Bath and West Showground occupies a site of 0.54 acres, and is being marketed as having development potential.

The brochure says it was great potential for existing or alternative commercial uses, conversion of the building to residential use and development of the large car park, all subject to planning.

As a pub, it can cater for 50 covers, it has five en suite letting rooms and a two-bedroom owners' flat.

The car park has 50 spaces, and outside there is a children's play area, barbecue area, beer garden and panoramic views.
