Patients at Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre say the hospital more than measures up, after giving it top marks in the national Friends and Family Test

Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre has once again achieved 100 per cent scores from patients, according to the latest results from the Friends and Family Test (FFT).

The hospital scored top marks in the areas of ophthalmology, day ward and inpatient ward. Overall, the hospital scored 99.5 per cent from the 938 patients who completed the FFT in August.

All providers of health care are required to carry out the Friends and Family Test as part of the NHS' commitment to improving the patient experience.

Patients are asked to rate their care based on the likelihood that they would recommend it to their friends and family.

Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre was the first hospital of its kind to be rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission across the five domains of the quality mark.

Connie Stocker, interim hospital director at Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre, said: "A huge thank you to all our patients who took the time to complete the Friends and Family Test and so provide us with valuable feedback.

"An excellent patient experience sits at the heart of everything we do – we are delighted with our results, but we will not be resting on our laurels and we will continue to provide the highest standards of care for our patients all day every day."
