Police launch investigation after death of Jossette Kemery in A371 collision
A woman who died in a two-car crash near Castle Cary on March 19 has been named by police as 41-year-old Jossette Kemery,
Two other people were airlifted to hospital following the collision on the A371 at 8pm.
The crash involved a black Peugeot 207 and a grey Hyundai i30 travelling in opposite directions near to the junction with the A359. Despite the best efforts of the public and emergency services, Ms Kemery died at the scene.
Meanwhile, a man in the Peugeot and a woman driving the Hyundai were airlifted to hospital following the collision. The woman's injuries are said to be potentially life-changing.
While Ms Kemery's family have released a photograph of her, they have declined to issue a tribute at this time and have asked for their privacy to be respected.
Avon and Somerset Police said, "A mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct due to prior police contact with the deceased.
