Plans for nine homes to be built on former railway line in Shepton Mallet

A planning application has been submitted for nine homes to be built on the former railway line in Shepton Mallet.
Mr S James has submitted the plans to Mendip District Council for the building of nine dwellings with associated access on former West Shepton Railway land off The Sidings, Shepton Mallet.
The nine homes would all have two bedrooms, and the total number of parking spaces for the development would be 21. Access to the new homes would be via The Sidings.
Other planning applications in the Shepton Mallet area that have been submitted this week include:
Erection of prefabricated waste storage units on a stepped foundation at Royal House, Hillmead, Shepton Mallet, has been applied for by Mrs Tracey Hancock.
Two-storey extension on the north and west elevations at 3 Douglas Drive, Shepton Mallet, is wanted by Mrs M Devine.
Construction of two detached houses with associated parking and amenity space in place of existing redundant garages on land at Monmouth Road, Shepton Mallet, has been applied for by Mr Vougar Mamedou.
Works to a tree in a conservation area T1 - ash - fell at 17 Waterloo Road, Shepton Mallet, are wanted by Ms Catriona Wardle.
Erection of a bike shelter for storing mobility scooters at 4 Pullen Court, Shepton Mallet, has been applied for by Mrs Tracey Hancock.
Single storey extension to north and west elevations at Higher Downside House, Windsor Hill Lane, Downside, Shepton Mallet, is wanted by Mr Shaun Wolff.
Repairs to first floor west elevation window at Parsonage Farm, Back Lane, Croscombe, have been applied for by Mr and Mrs James and Nicola Morris.
Alterations and refurbishment, new roof to create first floor bedroom at Rock Cottage, Thrupe Lane, Croscombe, are wanted by Mr and Mrs A Lewis.

Replacement of stables with an annexe and retrospective permission for three metre tennis court fence at Batch Farm, Limekiln Lane, Stoke St Michael, by Mr and Mrs Keeffe has been approved.
Change of use from agricultural land to the site of a small outdoor activity centre D2 Use, which will include a wooden cabin as a shelter, undercover workshop/class space/eating area and a wooden compost toilet (retrospective) on land at Small Down Lane to Higher Alham, Evercreech, by Mr Ed Green has been approved.
Retrospective permission for the retention of a travellers' static caravan for a period of three years at Roemead Farm, Roemead Road, Binegar, by Mr Gerald Esain has been approved.
Erection of domestic garage and hobby workshop building on land at Bath Road, Oakhill, by Mr Gabriel Ralls has been approved.
Use of land to station holiday lodge and installation of sewage treatment plant at Edmunds Shipperidge, Stock Hill, Coleford, by Mr Nicholas Bullus has been approved.
Creation of new driveway at Longacre, Tanyard Lane, North Wootton, by Mr Martin Lambden has been approved.
Erection of a single storey rear extension at Priors Leigh, Millford Lane to Smiths Lane, Ditcheat, by Mr and Mrs Neeve has been approved.
Application for approval of reserved matters following outline approval 2019/0035/OTA for the erection of an agricultural workers dwelling and associated access, matters of access/appearance/landscaping/layout/scale to be determined at The Portway, Turners Court Lane, Binegar, by Mr D Harris and Miss S Jonas has been approved.
Proposed works to trees in a conservation area: T1-T3 - maple - fell at The Haven, Cumhill Lane, Pilton, by Mrs Judy Ball have been withdrawn.
