Plans for 30 holiday lodges in Shepton Mallet are given the go-ahead

A holiday park can now be built on the edge of Shepton Mallet after a planning application for 30 lodges was given the green light by Mendip District Council.

The planning application had been submitted by Mrs S Crockett for the change of use of land for the siting of 30 mobile lodges for use as holiday accommodation at Cannards Grave Farmhouse, Whitstone Hill to Fosse Way, Shepton Mallet.

Approval had already been given for 25 lodges on the site, but now the applicant can build 30 lodges in a slightly larger area.

Planning applications in the Shepton Mallet area that have been submitted this week to Mendip District Council include:

Proposed conversion of redundant barns to dwellinghouse use Class (C3) at Brook House, Westcombe Road, Stoney Stratton, is wanted by Mr J Reynolds.

Conversion of existing building to provide annexed accommodation at Grove Shute Farm, Towns End Lane, Leigh-on-Mendip, has been applied for by Mr Nicholas Hiscox.

Application for approval of details reserved by conditions 3 (materials), 5 (ducts, pipes, rainwater goods), on listed building consent 2019/1294/LBC at Meadow Farm, Fosse Road, Oakhill, has been made by Mr Andy Mortimore.

Erection of a two storey east side extension at Springfield, Fosse Road, Stoke St Michael, has been applied for by Mr Bradley Haldane.

Erection of a single storey side extension and garage with associated driveway at 3 Beech Way, Evercreech, is wanted by Mr and Mrs Wilkinson.

Application for approval of reserved matters following outline approval 2019/1161/OTS for the erection of an agricultural worker's dwelling and attached annexe with details of access, matters of access/appearance/landscaping/layout/scale to be determined at Hillside Farm, Newbury Hill, Coleford, has been made by Mr R Phillips.

Approval of details reserved by conditions 3 (roofing materials), 4 (walling materials) and 5 (external fixed plant) on planning consent 2019/1019/FUL at Pilton Parish Hall, St Mary's Lane, Pilton, has been applied for by Mr Simon Finlay.

Application to remove condition 18 (occupancy restriction) of planning approval 2017/2166/FUL (reinstatement of residential use of house involving construction of new roof, conversion of barn to ancillary residential accommodation, part re-building of barn to office use, formation of new access and construction of garage/store building, as amended by revised drawings received 03/10/2017 and 11/10/2017) at Barrington House, Old Wells Road, Croscombe, has been made by Mrs Hannah Smith. Also the conversion of stone barn to a dwelling house and erection of a single storey extension at the same address.

Proposed construction of a two bedroom chalet bungalow with parking on a plot to the rear of 17 Rodmore Crescent, Evercreech, is wanted by Ms Tracey Hancock.

Application for outline planning permission with some matters reserved for the erection of two detached dwellings and garaging with details of access and layout at Rock House, Old Frome Road to Underhill, Gurney Slade, has been made by Mr A Lawrence.

Replace existing rear conservatory, create a secondary entrance and replace existing flat garage roof to pitched roof at 28 Beech Avenue, Shepton Mallet, has been applied for by Edward Pearce.

Planning applications in the Shepton Mallet area that have been decided this week by Mendip District Council include:

Prior approval for a proposed change of use of three agricultural buildings to three smaller dwellinghouses (Class C3) and for associated operational development at Brook House Farm, Leighton Lane, Evercreech, by Mr Heal has been given.

Resubmission of previously approved 2018/2746/FUL - construction of new toilets at Shepton Mallet Bowls Club, 3 Frithfield Walk, Shepton Mallet, has been approved.

Single storey rear extension at Havenwood, Station Mead, Chilcompton, by Mr and Mrs L Gosden has been approved.
