In planning news in and around Shepton Mallet this week:

Mendip planners are considering an application for Prior Approval for change of use of agricultural building into five new homes.

The application is for two barns at Lower Bagborough Farm Bagborough Lane Pylle under Reference 2021/2930/PAA.

The plans are for five dwelling houses (Use Class C3) comprising three smaller dwellings and two larger dwellings and for associated operational development.

Within a bat and bird survey already commissioned by the barn's owner, it details that Bagborough Farm was an active goat farm located to the west of Evercreech and that the farm occupies an isolated position within land which is both arable land and pasture. There is already a solar farm to the south of the property.

The agent for the application is Orme Architecture Ltd from Baltonsborough in Glastonbury.
