One person had to be cut free following a four-vehicle collision in Binegar last night (February 14).

Just after 7pm, two fire engines from Shepton Mallet and a heavy rescue tender from Glastonbury, were all sent to a report of a crash in the Bennetts Lane/Whitnell Corner area with persons still trapped.

On arrival crews confirmed this was a four-vehicle crash with one person trapped in one of the vehicles.

Crews removed the roof of the vehicle to extricate the casualty using hydraulic cutting equipment. The casualty was left in the hands of the ambulance crew and all other vehicles were made safe.
