PureGym will open in Shepton Mallet next month.
PureGym will open in Shepton Mallet next month.

Shepton Mallet's new PureGym is set to open its doors at 12pm on Wednesday 17 April, bringing a new fitness facility to Townsend Shopping Park.

The new gym, located near Tesco and Argos, will operate 24 hours a day and offer low-cost, no-contract memberships. It marks the company's latest expansion in Somerset, following what the company described as "sustained demand" for more facilities in the region.

Covering around 5,000 square feet, the gym will include free weights, cardio and resistance equipment, and a studio space for classes, which are included in the membership.

Free inductions will be available, and personal trainers will also be on site.

Around five jobs are being created as part of the opening, which PureGym says will also help drive footfall to the retail park.

Parking at the site will be free for gym users.
