New community group in Shepton aims to turn ideas into action

A new initiative launching in Shepton Mallet later this month is inviting residents and local groups to come together and explore practical ways to improve health and wellbeing in the community.
The first meeting of Community Solution Seekers will take place on Monday 29 April at Ashwick and Oakhill Village Hall, bringing together anyone with a desire to make a difference – from residents and parish councillors to GP surgery staff and social care professionals.
Organised by Somerset Rural Community Council, the group offers a relaxed and inclusive space where people can share ideas, listen to others, and begin shaping positive changes for Shepton Mallet and surrounding parishes.
"You don't need to be an expert," said organiser Steve Grice. "We're just looking for people with an open mind and a willingness to talk and listen. It's about working together to turn good ideas into real action."
Regular meetings will be held over the coming months to develop suggestions and bring new projects to life. Everyone is welcome, and refreshments will be provided.
Those interested in attending or learning more can visit the Community Solution Seekers website for full details.
