A man has been jailed for five years after more than £100,000 worth of heroin was found at his house.

Ian Phillips, 54 of Ecos Court in Frome, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin, possession of heroin and possession of criminal property at Exeter Crown Court on Monday 18 June.

Yesterday (June 19) at the same court he was jailed for five years, 15 months and one month respectively for the charges, to run concurrently.

Phillips was originally arrested in Wiltshire and was found in possession of a large quantity of cash.

Then when officers searched Phillips' home in December 2017 they discovered a significant quantity of heroin, believed to have a street value of more than £100,000.

Pc Jim Card said: "This case was an example of great joined-up work between Avon and Somerset and Wiltshire forces.

"This result should serve as a message that we will not tolerate drug dealing and those who seek to commit these crimes will be dealt with in the strongest possible terms.

"A significant amount of heroin has now also been taken off the streets.

"I'd also like to thank the public who provided us with lots of information in relation to Phillips' activities."
